Exams

trying to keep warm

The girls sat their dance exams yesterday. Ella sat ballet, tap and jazz. Kate sat ballet and tap (she does do jazz but not an exam class just a general one) It was a very cold morning, we were the first to arrive as Ella had an early one. She got two out of the way then we had a bit of a break so we popped up to the shops where we enjoyed some morning tea. The hot chocolates were well appreciated. When we got back, both the girls had their ballet together (they are in the same class/level which is really handy for me) then as soon as they were finished Kate had her tap, the last of the day. They both did very well. Results should be done in about 6 weeks. When we got home Kate went to bed and slept for 2.5hrs (she had hardly slept the night before due to worrying) All in all a good day!

Friday Fun

On Friday afternoon I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting up with my blogging friend Libby
and her girls on their last day of a WA adventure! We visited Kidz Paradise and practically had the place to ourselves. We stayed until closing, then the girls had a play back at the holiday park Libby & Co was staying at. Libby, it was wonderful to meet you and your gorgeous girls, hope you had a safe trip home!

Final Day of School Holidays

It's wet, cold, very windy and did I mention cold? 14 degrees tops was expected. Think it got to 11. So it's been our coldest day so far this winter. There was a hail storm too, so pretty chilly.

It was a day I would rather have stayed in bed reading my book, but Kate was celebrating her birthday (which was the end of June but couldn't team up with her friends until today due to sickness on both sides) with a trip to the movies to see Hannah Montana! Her best friend Tayah and Tayah's sister Emily were dropped off at our house at 8:30am, and we headed out for the 9:30am session. Amie and Ruby came too. The movie was great, well enjoyed by everyone.

We stopped in at Coles to get some party pies and sausage rolls to heat up at home for lunch, however on arriving home we discovered the power was out and would be until about 3pm, so we headed to Amie's house. Stayed there for a bit and got home just after 2pm and the power was back ON! Yay!

The girls played well all afternoon - Monopoly, Schools and on the Singstar!

Now off to drop the girls home and take Kate to tap! Back out into the cold ....

The book awaits!

Lazy Sunday

Well the holidays are nearly over. I love the holidays - so nice not to be dictated by time. Today has been raining on and off, so we've had a home day. Lots of reading, (Kate and I went to the library again yesterday) we watched a movie together - My Girl2, made some jam drops (yum!) had a wee nana nap ( well I did!) cleaned out the car (when the rain stopped) and just general chores. The girls cleaned their rooms including vacumming as they have friends coming over tomorrow. So all in all a nice day!

Finally ...

After what seemed like an eternity at home with sickies, we ventured out today for some sunshine (before a week of predicted rain!)

We caught the train into the City (the girls love doing this) As soon as we arrived we got some lunch and sat in the sun and watched the people go by

Then to the shops
The girls love trying on shoes whenever they spot some
They didn't get any :)

Ella wanted a photo of her resting.
You can just see her on the red chair.
This is in David Jones.

We looked around for a couple more hours then decided we had had enough.
There was too many people for my liking.
Well it is school holidays after all.

The train station was pretty desserted while we waited.

There are always a few pigeons about.

And here it is

Good to sit down!

Day 3

It's been another quiet and dull day here. No rain, but still cold. Trying to stay home for as long as it takes to get the girls well (esp Ella) Keeping her in a warm place is helping. I'm hoping for some sunshine soon so I can get her out. Today they played on the Singstar for awhile, they played zoo's with their huge box of animals, cleaned the girls bedrooms out and changed them around, they read books (and ate lunch) in the tent, lots of colouring-in, and of course - dress-ups! Will need to get my thinking cap on for tomorrow!

Day 2

Nothing exciting here today. Dropped girls off to Amie while I went to my home help job. Then went to the accountant and to register the cars. When the kids came home, we went straight to the library. Now we are stocked up on books and dvd's. Girls are still not too well, so will probably be home the next couple of days resting.

School Holidays - Day 1

Rain!!!! We need it, we really do, but for the first day of the hols? The good thing I guess is the kids are sick, so the rain is forcing us to stay home. Hopefully they'll get better soon. Now to think of ways to keep them busy (and not fighting) Ruby is here today too - two's company and three's a crowd as everyone knows.

Introducing ....

Not one, but TWO Hannah Montana's! Woohoo!

It was a mufti day today for the last day of term, the theme was music! So the girls both wanted to go as HM. Don't they look gorgeous?
