I have had a fabulous day. New red gumboots, a cardi, chocolates, frypan amd handbag! Handmade cards and the girls made and decorated a cake themselves (and stayed up until very late until it cooked) Fish and chips with a good friend and her kids. These are the best birthdays.

I love fish and chips but it is hard to find them out here in the mountains of Virginia, well done correctly. We used to call those boots gum boots when I was a kid but I haven't heard anyone use that term in years. That would make me a happy birthday except I would just as soon have black boots being an old guy.
